A Delegation of Uruguayan Broad Front Officials Visited SPI/SAI

Fernando Pereira Kosec, President of Broad Front (Uruguay), led a delegation of officials to visit SPI/SAI on June 4. WANGYongjie, Vice President of SPI/SAI, presided over the meeting and communication with the delegation.

Mr. WANG briefed the delegation on the history, teaching and training, key disciplines and international cooperation of SPI/SAI. He noted that the Communist Party of China and the Uruguayan Broad Front had maintained friendly communications since the two parties established relations, with a succession of fresh achievements made in cultural exchange and other fields. Mr. WANG said that SPI/SAI was ready to take this opportunity to work with the Broad Fronton further cooperation in governance, political party building and officials training, among other domains.


Pereira briefed the attendees on the history, purposes, vision and organizational structure of the Broad Front. He said that both the Uruguayan Broad Front and the CPC have had long-term plans for the future and taken seriously the people’s wellbeing. Pereira spoke highly of China’s enormous achievements in technological innovation, economic development and eradication ofabsolute poverty, among other things. He thought that these achievements would be impossible without the CPC’s sound leadership or long-term commitment to improving officials’ conduct. The delegation made positive remarks on the ongoing campaign to study the spirit of the CPC Central Committee’s eight-point decision on improving CPC and government conduct. They noted that this visit provided useful takeaways for the Broad Front’s preparation for running a party school and the delivery of training to officials.

Professor LI Ming from the Department of Leadership Science at SPI/SAI briefed the delegation on the CPC’s organizational guideline and building of a strong contingent of high-calibre officials. The two parties had in-depth communications on such topics as political party leadership and capacity to serve the general public.

Also present at this exchange were Consul General of Uruguay in Shanghaiand relevant colleagues from the International Department of the Central Committee of CPC, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and the Foreign Affairs OfficeofSPI/SAI.
