On March 5, Hemin Hawrami, Member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and Head of the KDP's Organizational Department, led an inspection delegation to visit Shanghai Party Institute of CPC & Shanghai Administration Institute (SPI/SAI). WANG Yongjie, Vice President of SPI/SAI, presided over the meeting, accompanied by relevant members from the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, as well as the Department of Economics and the Foreign Affairs Office of SPI/SAI.

WANGYongjie, on behalf of SPI/SAI, extended warm welcome to the delegation and introduced to it the history, teaching and training, key disciplines, and international cooperation of SPI/SAI. He stated that the history of friendly exchanges between China and Iraq dates back a long time ago. In recent years, both countries have closely collaborated under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of strategic partnership between them, and he hoped that this visit would further deepen mutual trust and understanding between both sides and step up exchanges in party building as well as education and training of officials.
Haurami expressed gratitude for the warm reception by SPI/SAI. He noted that international exchanges are a compulsory course for political parties in self-building. The KDP highly values cooperation and exchange with the CPC in various fields and welcomes Chinese enterprises to launch cooperative projects in Iraq. He mentioned that this visit was highly beneficial and the KDPlooks forward to expanding collaboration with SPI/SAI in academic exchanges and graduate student interactions in the future.
Both sides engaged in interactive discussions on topics such as the Chinese path to modernization, XIjinping Thought on Culture, consolidation of a party’s organizations, performance assessment and evaluation mechanisms for officials, SPI/SAI’s training system, and graduate education. Associate Professor HAOshenyong from the Department of Economics and Management (Theoretical Economics Research Institute)of SPI/SAIdelivered a lecture on China’s achievements and experiences in driving high-quality development.
