The National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences (NOPSS) recently announced the list of annual projects and youth projects of the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC) in 2024, in which ten projects of SPI/SAI Institute were approved. This number continues to rank high among provincial-level Party schools in China.

The promising results of getting NSSFC projects can be characterized as follows: the first is the equilibrium between project categories, as evidenced by one key project, five general projects, and four youth projects among all ten projects. The Institute is among the only four provincial-level Party schools that won key projects. The second is balanced team building, illustrated by the reasonable age distribution of project leaders, including senior professors born after the year of 1960, the backbone force among the post-1970s or the post-1980s generation, and the postdoctors born in the 1990s. The third is the sound, steady, and sustained development. Two teachers of SPI/SAI have been awarded NSSFC projects three times, four teachers twice, and four teachers for the first time, highlighting the trend of sustained growth of scientific research in the institute.
