On July 4, LI Bo, Vice President of Shanghai Party Institute of CPC (Shanghai Administration Institute) (hereinafter collectively referred to as “SPI (SAI)”), met with Jaeho Hwang, Director of the Institute for Global Strategy and Cooperation, and his delegation. The meeting was accompanied by relevant comrades from the China Association for International Friendly Contact and the Foreign Affairs Office and other relevant teaching and research departments of SPI (SAI).
LI Bo welcomed the visit of Jaeho Hwang and his delegation. He briefly introduced SPI (SAI) and its exchanges with Korea. Shanghai is the birthplace of the Communist Party of China (CPC), he said. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Shanghai people are conscientiously studying and implementing the instructions from General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech made during his inspection in Shanghai, and striving to advance the city’s development as an international economic, financial, trade, shipping, and innovation center and a modern, socialist and international metropolis with global influence, in accordance with the requirements of pursuing the city’s development based on its strategic position amid the background of economic globalization while keeping in mind the development of the country as a whole and the overall plan for the development of the Yangtze River Delta region. The visit to SPI (SAI) by Jaeho Hwang will enhance the mutual trust and understanding between the two institutes, strengthen our cooperation in academic exchanges, think tank research, etc. and inject “positive energy” into the friendship between China and the ROK.
Jaeho Hwang has been studying Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy for a long time. Before his visit to SPI (SAI), he attended the Conference Marking the 70th Anniversary of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and spoke positively of China’s important contributions to tackling deglobalization and defending international multilateralism. He briefly introduced the basic situation of the Institute for Global Strategy and Cooperation, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of SPI (SAI), and looked forward to further strengthening exchanges and cooperation with SPI (SAI).
During the meeting, Professor CHEN Fangliu, Director of the Department of Scientific Socialism, Professor LI Dunrui, Director of the Department of Economics and Management, and Dr. WANG Chunying, Director of the Department of Economics, interacted with Director Jaeho Hwang and his delegation around topics such as the governing philosophy and diplomatic thoughts of General Secretary Xi Jinping, Shanghai’s building of a best practice place for Xi Jinping’s cultural thought, promotion of high-quality financial development, and upgrade of urban capacity and core competitiveness.
