On July 1, a multi-party delegation of parliamentarians from the Andean Parliament visitedParty School of Shanghai Municipal Committee of CPC (SPS). The delegation consisted of political party officials from Latin American countries including Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Vice President Wang Yongjie hosted the meeting.

Wang Yongjie extended a warm welcome to the delegation and reviewed the academic exchanges between SPS and Latin American countries in recent years. He noted that, under the guidance of head-of-state diplomacy and the initiative to build a China–Latin America community with a shared future, China–Latin America relations have continued to deepen. He expressed SPS’s willingness to take this visit as an opportunity to fully leverage its academic strengths and geographical advantages, further promoting exchanges on governance experience with Latin American countries and deepening cooperation in such fields as politics, economics, Party building, and public administration.
The delegation expressed gratitude for SPS’s warm hospitality, noting that the exchange provided valuable Chinese experience for member states of the Andean Community in exploring poverty alleviation paths suited to their own national conditions. Delegation members highly praised General Secretary Xi Jinping’s strategy of targeted poverty alleviation and spoke positively of measures combining broad-based poverty reduction with precision-oriented assistance, as well as integrating poverty alleviation with efforts to strengthen people’s aspirations and self-reliance. They also expressed hope for continued cooperation in areas such as cadre education and training, think tank collaboration, and international exchanges.
Pan Wenxuan, Research Fellow and Director of Shanghai Development Research Institute of SPS, delivered a special presentation on China’s practical experience in poverty alleviation and its global significance. The visitors engaged in in-depth discussions focusing on the implementation of poverty reduction policies, government performance evaluation, healthcare security, employment support measures, and enterprise assistance programs.
