On the afternoon of August 23, a seminar titled “Party Building in Formats of New Businesses and New Employment Groups----Understanding, Issues, and Prospect” was co-held by Shanghai Party Institute of CPC/Shanghai Administration Institute (SPI/SAI), Ele.me, and Ali Research at MTR City Plaza. ZENG Jun, vice president of SPI/SAI, attended the seminar. LI Hongzhen, Standing Committee member and head of the Organization Department of the CPC Putuo District Party Committee, delivered a speech at the meeting. Party workers from Changfeng Xincun Sub-district and Wanli Sub-district of Putuo District, Ele.me, STO Express, and Qutoutiao shared their experience of Party building work in formats of new business and new employment groups. Experts and scholars from Fudan University, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, and  Shanghai Party Institute discussed the issues on Party building in formats of new business and new employment groups. ZHAO Gangyin, WU Zhijie, ZHOU Jianyong, CHEN Shirui, and ZHAO Dapeng, who were from the Department of Party History and Party Building of SPI, spoke at the meeting.

  Mr. ZENG concluded by saying that the importance of Party building work in Party building in formats of new business and new employment groups is self-evident, and that it is time we should summarize and improve theories based on our practical experience. There are two types of new business formats, one is organized and the other is unorganized, and the latter poses greater challenges for Party building work. We should reorganize the unorganized new business forms and new employment groups, and create new organizational formats out of them. Party building in formats of new business and new employment groups is unique in terms of the ways and methods and the technical means and elements adopted, but the fundamental goal remains to achieve political and organizational functions, hence the need to educate, supervise, and manage the Party members, and serve, gather, and guide the people in relevant fields, so that they could play a key role at critical points. We should continue to discover through investigation the reality about Party building in new business forms and new employment groups, extract theory from practice, and improve practice through theory.
