From July 23 to 26, Wondeye Legese Wakjira, vice president of the African Leadership Excellence Academy in Ethiopia, and his delegation had a visit to Shanghai Party Institute of CPC/Shanghai Administration Institute (SPI/SAI). MEI Lihong, vice president of SPI/SAI, hosted a meeting with them, accompanied by members from the Central Party School of . (National Academy of Governance) and the Foreign Affairs Office of SPI/SAI.
Ms. MEI gave a general introduction about SPI/SAI, with the focus on its international education, and looked back on its exchanges with Ethiopia. She hoped that this visit could offer the delegation an opportunity to better understand Shanghai and enhance the mutual understanding and trust between China and Africa.
Mr. Wakjira introduced the vision and goals, organizational development, training programs, advisory and research projects of the African Leadership Excellence Academy, and praised the SPI/SAI’s modern teaching facilities and scientific training system. He looked forward to more cooperation with SPI/SAI in the future. The two sides also had in-depth exchanges on cadre training, learning management system, and international publishing, among others.
During their stay in Shanghai, the delegation also visited some other places, including the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, the Gubei Civic Center, and the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
