A few days ago, the General Office of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee issued the Decision on Commending Advanced Groups and Individuals and Excellent Reports and Micro Videos in Grassroots Theory Publicity in 2023.  Shanghai Party Institute of CPC(SPI) & Shanghai Administration Institute’s (“SAI”) Omni-media Party Course Team (speakers: WANG Gonglong, ZHAO Dapeng, CHEN Fangliu, LI Zongjian, SUN Yeqing, ZHOU Jianyong, LUO Junli, YANG Jun, LI Meng, WANG Zhongqi, CAI Aiping, CHEN Shengyun, HE Haibing, LIU Zhiguang, JIANG Huafu, TANG Juelan, ZOU Lei, WANG Yao, WU Haihong, and LUO Feng) won the national advanced group of grassroots theory publicity.

　　In order to be a pioneer in studying, publicizing, and implementing the guiding principles of the Party’s 20^th National Congress, and equip itself with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, SPI planned and deployed before the 20^th CPC National Congress, and co-launched with Radio Shanghai, two days after the full text of the 20^th National Congress report was released, an omni-media program “Twenty Lectures on the 20^th National Congress” from October 27 to November 7, 2022. The program went live on Radio Shanghai’s “Citizens and Society,” and was broadcast on new media platforms such as the xuexi.cn (Shanghai Platform), Bilibili, and Radio Shanghai’s official Weibo account, garnering over 10 million views. It went on the front page of Jiefang Daily on December 13, 2022, under the title “This Is How We Take Party Classes in the New Era.” Based on the content of the omni-media Party class, the speakers revised the live lecture notes, and published the book New Thoughts Leading the New Journey in June 2023, promoting the communication through paper and the Internet. It also served as learning materials for the ongoing in-depth theme education campaign on the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The book made the “Books of the Century” July 2023 list.

　　Over the years, it has become a new development and highlight of the SPI’s teaching to create distinctive omni-media Party courses in collaboration with various media outlets, and expand the venue of Party courses from physical classrooms to the Internet. The award will encourage the teaching and research staff to fully tap into their expertise in theory publicity and teach in a comprehensive, accurate, and profound manner Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, so that innovative theories of the CPC would reach out to the general public.

　　The Publicity Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee recently also announced the 2023 Shanghai Grassroots Theory Publicity Award for Individuals and Reports. Professor WANG Gonglong of the School of Marxism won the Shanghai Grassroots Theory Publicity Award for Advanced Individuals; Studying and Implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era (by retired Professor YUAN Bingda), Continuously Adapting Marxism to the Chinese Context and the Needs of Our Times in the “Two Integrations” (by Professor CHEN Fangliu of the Department of Scientific Socialism), and Upholding and Strengthening the CPC’s Comprehensive Leadership (by Professor ZHOU Jianyong of the Department of Party History and Building) won the Shanghai Excellent Report on Grassroots Theory Publicity.
