SPI has recently completed the development of the 2023 online international communication courses on telling Chinese stories. Six courses have finished recording and post-production, and have been submitted to the Online Communication Database sponsored by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee
This work started in 2020 and has been carried out for four consecutive years. A total of 50 courses have been developed and submitted to the database of the International Department. Over the past four years, the development of online international communication courses has been focused on improving both internal and external publicity, combining online and offline resources, and making full use of SPI's overall advantages. The programs of bilingual teacher training, course development and implementation, on-site teaching bases building, and international courses development have been closely integrated to continuously improve SPI's open education capabilities.
Most teachers of the six online international courses recorded this year have participated in the bilingual teacher training class. All the teachers have participated in the online or offline international programs. And they have all contributed to the compilation of SPI's first international bilingual textbook Why Shanghai?—The Stories of Chinese Modernization. Five of the courses feature the on-site teaching bases that are either in use or have been newly developed.
