On the afternoon of September 1, Shanghai Party Institute of CPC (Shanghai Administration Institute) held an opening ceremony for the 2024 Fall Semester. ZHANG Wei, a standing member of the Committee and Head of the Organization Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and President of Shanghai Party Institute, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.

ZHANG Wei pointed out that we must thoroughly study and act on the guiding principles from the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, gain a deep and solid understanding of a series of new ideas, viewpoints, and conclusions proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping on deepening reform in an all-round way, adhere to the principle of combining theory with practice, and master powerful theoretical tools to promote reform and development. We must firmly pursue the path of reform and opening-up, constantly make innovative moves, bravely shoulder national strategic tasks, continuously solve problems cropping up on the way forward through reform, and effectively enhance the sense of responsibility and mission for further comprehensively deepening reform based on the reality that Shanghai is a “pacesetter and forerunner.” We must willingly shoulder our responsibilities and take effective action to keep abreast of the trend of the times. We must roll up our sleeves and work with added energy like entrepreneurs, strengthen our ability in reforming, practice what it means to perform well, serve as doers in the pursuit of quality and efficiency, and promote the high-quality transformation of the grand blueprint of further comprehensively deepening reform into reality.
