On April 26, a delegation of senior cadres of the South African Communist Party led by Mapaila, General Secretary of the South African Communist Party, visited our institute. They had a meeting with Vice President MEI Lihong, accompanied by workers from the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China, Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and SAI Foreign Affairs Division.

　　MEI Lihong briefed the basic situation of ou-r institute, highlighted the feature of international cooperation and reviewed the history of exchanges with South Africa and the South African Communist Party. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, MEI Lihong warmly welcomed the South African delegation to visit our institute for exchanges. Our institute is willing to continuously deepen cooperation with relevant institutions in South Africa under the framework of friendly exchanges, jointly deepen mutual trust between China and South Africa, and boost cooperation between political parties.

　　At the meeting, Professor WANG Gonglong gave a lecture on Chinese modernization. The South African delegation fully recognized the two miracles of rapid economic development and long-term social stability made by the Chinese people under the leadership of the CPC and the important role China has played in maintaining world peace. The delegation spoke highly of our institute for its long history, rich experience, and distinctive international school-running features, as well as the important contributions it had made to Party building and training of leaders and cadres. Finally, the two sides had in-depth discussions on further cooperation in the fields of think tank building, mutual visits, and lectures.
