On the morning of February 21, the review meeting of the institute's academic visit to Germany was held in the conference room on the first floor of the administrative building, chaired by Vice President MEI Lihong, who delivered a speech. Representatives from the Personnel Division, the Foreign Affairs Office, and related teaching and research departments and professors were in attendance.
MEI Lihong highlighted that this outbound academic visit would serve as a beneficial start for the internationalization of the institute's teaching to return to its prior course of action following the pandemic, which would be a significant step to improving the bilingual teaching capability and international exchange capacity of the teaching team, and enhancing the overall level of internationalization of the institute. MEI Lihong emphasized the necessity of constructing a thorough research plan in advance for the visiting scholars, ensuring that their research topics are in line with the focal and key disciplines of the institute's teaching and research, as well as the requirements of the Teaching and Research Department. The timing of their visit should be supportive of research exchange and their activities should be abundant and varied. Visiting scholars should make use of their time abroad, proactively participate in academic seminars and social activities, and "subtly" tell the stories of China and Shanghai in international exchanges. They should abide by political disciplines and regulations, and the Personnel Division and Foreign Affairs Office should strengthen the management of the research process, assigning personnel to maintain contact with the visiting scholars. All departments should rigorously assess the research results of the visit and implement detailed inspections, to guarantee quality.
