On March 1, the 5th China (Shanghai) Social Governance Innovation Practice Case Release and Symposium, sponsored jointly by Chinese Executive Leadership Academy Pudong, Shanghai Party Institute (Shanghai Administration Institute), Xinhua News Agency Shanghai Branch, and China Economic Information Service, was held at our institute.
At the opening ceremony, HU Guangjie, Secretary of the Shanghai Construction and Transportation Party Working Committee, FENG Xiaomin, Former Deputy Minister of the Organization Department of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Chief Expert of Shanghai Party Building Think Tank, and XU Li, Chairman of the Board and Party Secretary of the Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank, gave keynote speeches respectively.
Subsequently, the 5th China (Shanghai) Social Governance Innovation Practice Case Release officially released 20 nominated cases, 20 excellent cases and 10 top cases. As one of the award-giving guests, ZENG Jun, Vice President presented awards to the winning cases. The 50 award-winning cases demonstrated the wisdom of grassroots governance, showcasing Shanghai's exploration results of the "Six Major Projects" for the modernization of the governance system and governance capacity.
At the symposium, representatives of the previous top ten cases and experts held a research discussion on the theme of "Five-Year Retrospective – Dialogue on Classic Cases", reflecting the new achievements, new initiatives and new ideas in Shanghai's social governance from the grassroots level.
The present practice case collection activity was initiated last September with the key words of "Party Building Leading", "Peacetime-wartime Transition", "Team Building", "Governance by Law" and "Digital Empowerment". The cases are closely related to the modernization of grassroots governance, providing new ideas to further consolidate the grassroots fortress. The activity has collected more than 360 related cases, a new record compared to the previous years. It covers the first batch of outstanding projects themed "Beautiful Community, Pioneer Action" and the latest exploration of all walks of life in the rule of law, morality, autonomy, and digital governance. Organizers of the activity will showcase the typical cases and latest achievements regarding Shanghai's social governance in case collection and other multimedia forms, with the intention of promoting them nationwide. Moreover, related cases will also be included in the school (college) teaching case library as the on-site teaching point for party members and cadres, and some typical cases will be incorporated into the curriculum system.
