On the afternoon of October 19, the China (Shanghai) -Singapore Civil Servant Exchanges Work Promotion Meeting was held at Shanghai Administration Institute, which was attended by leaders and personnel from the Cadre Education Office of the Organization Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Asia-Pacific Division of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, the Civil Servant Training Office and Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Administration Institute, Singapore Public Service Bureau, Civil Service College Singapore, and the Singapore Consulate-General in Shanghai. The meeting adopted a combination of online and offline methods and was presided over by ZHOU Guorong, Deputy Director of the Asia-Pacific Division of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government.
The meeting is an important part of the joint efforts between the Organization Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Singapore Public Service Bureau to promote exchanges of civil servants between the two sides, and also a continuation of the civil servant training cooperation project carried out by Shanghai Administration Institute and Civil Service College Singapore for many years. At the meeting, WEN Sixiang, Deputy Director of the Leadership Development Department of Singapore Public Service Bureau, introduced leadership development work in training civil servants in Singapore; ZHU Wei, Fourth-level Researcher of the Cadre Education Office of the Organization Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, introduced Shanghai’s training and leadership development work for civil servants. The two sides shared outlooks on the senior civil servant exchange project in 2023. WENG Yanting, Deputy Director of the International Department of Civil Service College Singapore, introduced the training of civil servants in the college, and focused on the history and successful cases of international exchanges and cooperation of civil servants between Civil Service College Singapore and Shanghai Administration Institute. ZHAO Wen, Second-level Inspector of Shanghai Administration Institute (in charge of the Civil Servant Training Office) made a general introduction to the institute, focusing on the highlights in work such as characteristic training of civil servants and exchanges of international school-running.
China and Singapore discussed freely on how to carry out cooperation and expand the international cooperation path for training civil servants. Through the work promotion meeting, the two sides gained a deeper understanding and a clear plan for future cooperation, and agreed to carry out international exchanges continuously in training civil servants to further promote the cooperation and exchanges between the two sides.
