On the special day of October 16, the 20th CPC National Congress was opened in Beijing. Shanghai Party Institute of CPC (Shanghai Administration Institute) organized all the faculty members, postgraduates and trainees to watch the livestreaming of the opening ceremony of the 20th CPC National Congress in a timely manner at several places, and listen carefully to General Secretary Xi Jinping’s work report on behalf of the 19th CPC Central Committee.

　　Listening to the nearly 2-hour report, everyone listened attentively and carefully, and wrote down important contents such as key discussions, latest proposals and requirements in the report on notebooks from time to time. Everyone agreed that the 20th CPC National Congress is a very important conference, which takes place at a critical time as the entire Party and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups embark on a new journey to build China into a modern socialist country in all respects, and advance toward the Second Centenary Goal. It summarizes the achievements of the past ten years, points out the direction for the new journey and determines the future course. General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech scientifically analyzed the current international and domestic situations, profoundly expounded on the work in the past five years and tremendous changes in the 10 years of the new era, and answered a series of major theoretical and practical questions related to the development of the Party and the country, reflecting the persistence and commitment of the Party who had remained true to its original aspirations and adhered to its faith, demonstrating the historical mission of national rejuvenation, and drawing the blueprint for a strong country. Everyone said that members of Shanghai Party Institute of CPC should get ahead in learning, work hard in thorough interpretation, quickly adjust their thoughts and actions according to the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches, and follow the decisions and deployment of the CPC Central Committee. They should work diligently, advance bravely, forge ahead in unity, and contribute the strength of Shanghai Party Institute of CPC, demonstrate its charm, firmly and consciously think and act according to the spirit of speeches, and make contributions to building a modern socialist country in all respects.

　　It’s the most important political task of our institute to organize all the faculty and students to watch the opening ceremony of the 20th CPC National Congress, and to accurately and comprehensively study, spread and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress in a timely manner. To this end, the Party Committee of our institute made thoughtful arrangements. The auditorium on No.200 Hongcao South Road was the main place for faculty members to watch the opening ceremony collectively. Members of the institute committee sat in the first row, and more than 100 members of the Party affairs cadre training class 2022 sat in the middle core area, reflecting the demonstration and leading role of Party members and cadres, and Party affair cadres in learning. According to the requirements of pandemic prevention and control, our institute organized all students to watch the video of the congress in their classrooms. At the same time, postgraduates could watch the video of the congress at No.123 Hongcao South Road. In addition, there were centralized viewing points at Meilong Campus and Dianshan Lake Campus for students to watch the video at the same time.

　　After the meeting, members of the central group of the institute committee discussed their understanding and thinking of the opening ceremony of the 20th CPC National Congress, and exchanged experiences and work plans. All departments and branches organized Party Day activities and political learning activities themed “studying and implementing the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress”. All Party members, cadres and faculty members had discussions and exchanged experiences and work plans based on their understanding and thinking of the 20th CPC National Congress. They said that they should think and act according to the spirit of the congress, and play to their wisdom and strength to fulfill the goals and tasks of the 20th CPC National Congress. They should maintain high-level political consciousness as members of the Party, stay committed to the faith, remain true to original aspirations, and set an example in learning, spreading and implementing the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress.
