Recently, the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences released the list of 2021 National Social Science Foundation of China (NSSFC) Annual Projects and Youth Projects. Among them, nine were granted to our faculty members, including six general projects and three youth projects. It has been the ninth year in which we were granted with the most national projects among all provincial Party institutes.
With the nine approved projects, including LIU Zhenying’s “An Economic and Philosophical Study of Prosperity for All in the New Development Phase,” and the two major projects approved earlier this year ---- Vice President XU Jiangang’s “A Study of the Major Theoretical and Real Issues in Enhancing the Education of ‘Four Histories’ in the New Era” and Professor ZHOU Jingqing’s “A Study of the Full Implementation of the Party’s Organizational Routes in the New Era,” SPI has been granted with 11 national projects this year.
The nine national projects share two characteristics: 1) they cover a proportional range of disciplines, including the Party history and building, philosophy, Marxism and social sciences, political science, applied economics, theoretical economics, and library science and information and documentation, and our preponderant disciplines did very well; 2) they exhibit positive prospects as five authors got their national projects for the first time and four authors for the second time.
It is learned that a quota was implemented for the application for the NSSFC this year. As a result, 4,642 projects were approved and 120 of them are from the Party institutes around the country.
