On the afternoon of August 5, the  Private Entrepreneur Forum on "Always Follow the Party"and release of the new book Vigorous Innovation and Entrepreneurship — Practical Cases of Shanghai Innovative Enterprises Overcoming Difficulties in the New Era was held in the studio of Shanghai Education Television Station, sponsored by Shanghai Party Institute, Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce and Jiefang Daily, and organized by Shanghai Education Television Station, Fudan University Press and Shanghai Zhangjiang Institute of International Hi-tech Innovation Talent. WANG Xinkui, former Vice Chairman of theAll-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, former Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Shanghai Committee and former Chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce, attended the event. 　　XU Jiangang pointed out in his speech that every step forward of the private economy is inseparable from the guidance of the Party’s innovative theories and the strong leadership of the CPC. Private entrepreneurs are not only the pioneers of reform and opening up, but also its beneficiaries. XU hoped that private entrepreneurs could keep in mind the high expectations of General Secretary XI Jinping and firmly follow the Partys instructions and guidance. This event focused on the Party-building work in private enterprises, the development of corporate culture through Party building and business innovation through Party building. The discussions have important realistic significance and conform to the new era.
　　SHI Dengding expressed in his speech his gratitude to Shanghai Party Institute for cheering and encouraging the private economy through preparing the teaching material of typicalcases. The teaching material is a rare masterpiece in recent years that fully reflects the innovation and entrepreneurship of private technology enterprises in Shanghai from multiple dimensions. SHI also expressed heartfelt gratitude and high respect to a large number of private entrepreneurs, especially the young ones, who had demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility for the new era. He hoped the private entrepreneurs could be grateful to the Party, follow the Partys instructions, innovate bravely, and set good examples.

TAN Limin, founder and CEO of Shanghai WestWell Lab, ZHOU Chaoen, founder, Chairman and General Manager of Shanghai Energy Information Technology Co., Ltd., FENG Yuejun, founder and Chairman of Shanghai Transcom Instruments Co., Ltd., ZHOU Zhiqiang, Deputy Party Secretary of Jiefang Daily, Professor YAO Kai, Director of the Global Hi-tech Talent Development Research Center of Fudan University and PhD supervisor, and Professor MAO Junquan, Director of SPIs Department of Leadership Science (Research Center for Modern Human Resource Assessment) and Editor-in-chief of the new book, shared the latest developments in relevant industries and discussed the topic of corporate development momentum from different angles.

　　Under the joint guidance of the Organization Department of Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal Education and Health Work Party Committee and the Shanghai Hi-tech Innovation Office, the new book Vigorous Innovation and Entrepreneurship — Practical Cases of Shanghai Innovative Enterprises Overcoming Difficulties in the New Era completed planning, research, compilation, selection and review as scheduled, and was published by Fudan University Press on the occasion of the centenary of the Party. The book has been included in the key textbooks of SPI (SAI). This achievement focuses on key industries, emphasizes the power of technology, considers comprehensive benefits, and highlights the guidance of Party building. Under careful organization and compilation, 22 cases of innovation and entrepreneurship are selected. The cases tell the stories of 22 outstanding private technology enterprises that have grown and developed in Shanghai in the new era. They vividly reflect the splendid journey of growth, development, and expansion of the private technology enterprises in the context of Shanghais acceleration of building a hi-tech innovation center with global influence. The achievement is of great value for accelerating the replication and promotion of Shanghais experience and cases in innovation and entrepreneurship, for demonstrating Shanghais soft power vividly, for amplifying the effects of comprehensive in-depth reform under the Partys leadership continuously, for motivating officials to take responsibility and for improving officials abilities of accurate governance. The book reflects SPIs implementation of Municipal Party Secretary LI Qiangs instruction of implementing the essentials of General Secretary XI Jinping’s important speech made in his visit to Shanghai into the whole process and all aspects of teaching, scientific research, and decision consultation in the Party institute. It is an important measure and practical action taken to meet the requirement of YU Shaoliang, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of Shanghai and President of SPI, about thoroughly summarizing the practice of XI Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in Shanghai and incorporating the experience and methods into the officials training materials. At the same time, the compilation of the book is also one of SPIs key projects in integrating relevant resources and carrying out practical activities on the theme of Doing Practical Work for the People thoroughly, wholeheartedly and diligently while learning and teaching the Partys history, based on the institutes duties, missions and characteristic advantages. It demonstrates from one aspect that the people of the Party institute are fully aware of their missions and are determined in both mind and action to learn, think, practice and understand the Party’s innovative theories, to go deep into the frontline, to center on discipline frontiers, to strengthen team work and achievement supply in scientific research, decision consultation, teaching and training, and to actively contribute to opening up new prospects for urban construction on the new journey in the new era.
