On the morning of June 29, a grand assembly was held at the SPI(SAI) to celebrate the centenary of the founding of CPC. Opened by the powerful national anthem, the celebration was followed by a rewarding ceremony to honor the excellent Party workers, excellent Party members, and exemplary Party branches of SPI(SAI), and by a singing party titled Sing for the Centenary and the New Journey. More than 450 people attended the assembly, including all the Party members in service, the Party members among the postgraduates, some representatives of retired Party members, and the leaders and members of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group of the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision stationed in the Organization Department of the Municipal Party Committee.
    Executive Vice President of SPI(SAI) XU Jiangang attended the assembly and delivered a speech. Vice President LI Bo presided over the assembly. Vice President ZENG Jun announced the rewarding decision about the excellent Party workers, excellent Party members, and exemplary Party branches. The leaders jointly awarded honorary certificates to the representatives of the 8 "exemplary Party branches", 23 "excellent Party workers", and 64 "excellent Party members of SPI(SAI)".

　　On behalf of the institutes CPC committee, XU Jiangang extended greetings to the Party organizations at all levels and all the Party members on the occasion of the centenary, paid high respect to all the leading Party members and the retired ones, and extended congratulations to the honored exemplary Party branches, excellent Party members, and excellent Party workers. He emphasized that it is necessary to vigorously promote and learn from the outstanding deeds and work performances of the exemplary Party branches, excellent Party members, and excellent Party workers, especially their noble values of being faithful, hard-working, and devoted, and to create a strong atmosphere of being competitive, responsible, conducive, united, and enterprising.
XU Jiangang pointed out that the birth of the CPC in China was a world-shaking event. The 100-year-long magnificent historical course of the CPC has fully proved that only the CPC can save China, develop China, and prosper China. We must thoroughly study the glorious history of the Party, deeply understand how hard it had been for us to achieve the red political power, the new China, and the socialism with Chinese characteristics, deeply understand that the CPC is really capable, Marxism is really feasible, and socialism with Chinese characteristics is really great, and deeply understand the Youth Code for the century-old Party to remain young. We must strongly enhance the political confidence of adhering to the leadership of the CPC, strongly enhance the political determination in the pursuit of our ideals, continuously improve our political judgment, political understanding, and political execution, and determine to be a firm believer and loyal practitioner of the lofty ideal of communism and the common ideal of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

    XU Jiangang emphasized that Party schools are established because of the Party, and thrive and prosper because of the Party, too. Shanghai is the birthplace of the CPC and where the Party put forward its original aspiration. The Shanghai Party Institute is a Party school located at the birthplace of the Party. Standing at the new historical starting point to achieve the second centenary goals, we deeply feel that the mission is glorious and the responsibility is heavy. All the people at SPI(SAI) must focus on meeting the requirements of "studying the Partys history, understanding its theories, doing practical work, and making new advances", insist on understanding the theories, enhancing our beliefs, improving our moralities, and practicing the theories while studying the Partys history. We must draw wisdom and strength from the Partys history, pass down the red genes of the Party, extend the spiritual bloodline of the Party, stick to the glorious revolutionary tradition, adhere more firmly and consciously to the principle that a Party school and its members must serve the Party, conform to the spirit and characters of Shanghai, vigorously promote our motto of being loyal, realistic, and pioneering, and fully demonstrate the political consciousness and sense of responsibility that the members of Party schools in the new era must always follow the Party and march toward the new journey.

In the new era and on the new journey, we must always maintain the political nature of being loyal to the Party, to Marxism and to the Partys official education. We must always sustain the revolutionary legacy, take the revolutionary predecessors and martyrs as our glorious examples, consider the Partys long line of inspiring principles as the value coordinates, and strengthen our sincere loyalty to the Party with firm ideals and beliefs. We must become deeply conscious of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment. We must strengthen confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics. We must resolutely uphold General Secretary XI Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, as well as the Party Central Committee’s authority and its centralized, unified leadership. We must strictly observe the Partys political disciplines and rules, and always maintain a high degree of unity with the Party Central Committee with Comrade XI Jinping at its core. We must diligently study the Partys theories, and constantly consolidate the Marxist beliefs, the foundation of our loyalty to the Party. We should take the series of important instructions given by General Secretary XI jinping on the running and operation of Party schools as the basic guidelines, fully implement the Work Regulations for the Party Schools (Administration Schools) of the CPC, and comprehensively improve the quality and capability of school management.

In the new era and on the new journey, we must adhere to the Partys ideological route, promote the Partys fine work conduct, and cultivate a scientific attitude and character of being practical and realistic. We should vigorously promote the learning style of combining theory with practice, unify the courage to explore with the spirit of being scientific and realistic, and continuously deepen academic innovation and the innovation in teaching and training. We should center our work on the strategic focuses of the construction of the peoples city, combine the practice on the theme of "I Do Practical Work for the People", and conduct in-depth, systematic investigation and research. We should take guiding XI Jinpings Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era into teaching materials, classrooms, and brains as the acting point, actively promote high-quality development of the integration of teaching, research, and consulting, and work realistically and in advance in the construction of our main job and main courses.

    After the excellent Party workers, excellent Party members, and exemplary Party branches were honored, the singing party titled Sing for the Centenary and the New Journey was held. With great passion and resonant songs, all the Party members expressed their deep love for the Party and their sincere blessings for the Party’s centenary birthday. The Red Band performed the opening song I Believe. Each of the 7 singing teams formed by the 35 in-service Party branches and postgraduate Party branches of the institute sang a classic revolutionary song. The songs were titled respectively Follow the Communist Party of China, Unity is Strength, Sing a Folk Song to the Party, No CPC, No New China, In Bright Sun, Stay True to the Original Aspiration, and Go Ahead, the Communist Party of China. They praised the glorious course of the CPC and its great achievements in leading the Chinese revolution, construction and reform, and expressed the lofty ambition of following the Party forever and marching towards a new journey. The singing party ended successfully with the songs of Dedication and Blessing the Motherland performed by the school choir. On the occasion of the centenary of CPCs founding, all the leading Party members and Party branches of the institute were organized to learn from good examples and sing songs on the theme of "always follow the Party and march forward in the new era". The activity was an important part of the 9th SPI(SAI) Culture and Art Festival, an organic component of the in-depth Party history learning, and a special Party lecture featuring Party history learning at a critical point. Follow the Party steadfastly and work together to create new wonders. In the new era, all the members of the Party school will rally closer around the Party Central Committee with Comrade XI jinping at its core. Under the strong leadership of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, we will stay true to our original aspiration, keep our founding mission in mind, keep going forward, and be practical and firm. In the new era and on the new journey, we will write a new chapter in SPI(SAI)s development course under the principle of being loyal, realistic, and pioneering, and make greater contributions to helping Shanghai create more miracles in the new era and demonstrate a new modern city!
