On May 25, the trainees of the first seminar for Arab diplomats in China came to Shanghai Party Institute (SPI), where they visited the museum of SPI's history and attended a featured lecture.
Led by a guide, the trainees walked through a footpath lined with green trees. They first visited the museum of SPI's history and learnt about the hardship that SPI had experienced in the early years and its following development.
When a trainee of the Moroccan embassy to China, walked past the SPI's motto displayed in the museum, he stopped to watch the bright red Chinese motto----"Be Loyal, Realistic, and Pioneering." and whispered with a reporter of People's Daily to understand about their meanings. Then he said, "They are precise expressions indeed. Through them I see the spiritual characters of the Communist Party of China."
Walking in the Excellent Books area, a trainee of the United Arab Emirates Embassy to China, frequently stopped to observe those book: It Takes Good Iron to Make Good Products — How to Be a Member of the Communist Party of China Today, Reform and Opening-up Brought Shanghai into a Golden Age, A Compulsory Course for Members of the Communist Party of China, China's Approach to National Governance: A Political Party Perspective.... He said to a reporter, "The abundant books represent the ability of the Communist Party of China to continuously explore itself and progress."
As was introduced, SPI has established stable exchanges and cooperation with more than 40 training agencies and universities around the world. It provides training service for many civil servants from developing countries and shares with them China's experience in state governance. During the visit, some trainees noticed that SPI had held a public administration seminar for civil servants from Arab countries in 2018. They expressed their appreciation for such communication activities.
SPI offered each trainee the first and second volumes of the Arabic edition by XI Jinping: The Governance of China and they started to read immediately. A trainee of the Palestinian embassy to China, said that he liked reading XI Jinping: The Governance of China. "The books explained China's national strategy of realizing the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and China's goal of fighting for the happiness of all mankind. It is very helpful for me to understand China and learn from Chinese experience."
In the exchange session of the lecture on CPC's history, a trainee of the Iraqi Embassy to China, expressed his appreciation for the courage demonstrated by the Communist Party of China in revolution. He asked why the Communist Party of China could achieve such a great success. Associate Professor WANG Yao of SPI's Department of Party History and Building, who was in charge of the lecture, said that the Communist Party of China had a clear goal at the very beginning, and has been advancing step by step under the principle of being realistic, on the basis of a profound insight into the laws of history and following the trend of the times, which led to its achievement today. Her reply drew a big round of applause from the trainees present.
During the discussion about China's 14th Five-Year Plan, new development concept, and poverty alleviation, a trainee asked how the major policies were formulated, implemented and fulfilled by China. BU Xinbing, a lecturer of SPI's Marxism Research Institute, pointed out that the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government have a rigorous organizational structure, including CPC's Central Committee and the central government, the local committees and governments, and the primary-level organizations, which cover all levels of governance. At the same time, the Party committees and governments at all levels will supervise and assess the implementation and fulfillment of policies. Last year, it was through such an organizational structure that China's epidemic prevention and control measures were successfully implemented from the upper levels to the primary-level communities and that the epidemic was kept in effective control in a short period of time.
At the end of the exchange and the lecture, the trainees were still in high spirits having in-depth interaction with the Chinese experts and the lecturers. "The visit and in-depth communication at the SPI today let us understand why the Communist Party of China can make such achievements, and we look forward to more communication activities in the future," said a trainee of the Qatar embassy to China.
