On the afternoon of April 13, the SPI (SAI) Party lecture on the theme oflearning and educating the Party history and the opening ceremony of the 9th Culture and Art Festival was held in SPIs auditorium. The Party lecture was given by XU Jjiangang, member of the Party History Lecturer Team under CPCs Shanghai Municipal Committee and Vice Executive President of SPI (SAI). the lecture was hosted by LI Bo, Vice President of SPI (SAI) and Secretary of the SPI Party Committee. The members of the School Board, the Discipline Inspection Team of the Municipal Discipline Commission stationed in the Organization Department of the Municipal Committee of CPC, and the Party Branch Secretary were seated in the front row. All the faculty members and postgraduates, more than 500 in total, attended the Party lecture.
Under the title of the Youth Code of Our Centurial Party with Full Vigor, XU Jiangang explained the basic connotation of CPCs history, the purpose and significance of learning and teaching the Partys history, and the content, methods, and key points. He gave a systematic explanation of the Partys glorious history, great spirit and valuable experience, a deep interpretation of the internal meaning of a century-old but glorious party. The substantial themed Party lecture for all people in the institute featured a clear-cut stand, a magnificent vision, lively inspiring content, and a distinct outline. It not only helped everyone learn the knowledge of the Partys history and the new achievements in the Party history research, but also set a good example for everyone to learn and use the Partys history.

LI Bo pointed out that under the strong leadership of the School Board the learning and teaching of the Party’s history were booming at SPI (SAI) and advanced in good order. All Party members must further promote the excellent academic atmosphere, and firmly follow the correct direction of the learning and teaching; further enhance the awareness of our political stand, and deeply understand the great significance and targets of the learning and teaching; further optimize the learning methods and strive to make the learning and teaching more targeted and systematic. All Party branches and departments must actively implement the deployments and requirements of the School Board, orient all work to our duties and missions, give full play to our unique advantages, organize Party members and faculty members to actively carry out the learning and teaching, and promote the continuous deepening of the learning and teaching in SPI (SAI).

The themed Party lecture was not only an important link in the implementation of the institutes program of learning and teaching the Party’s history, but also an example of implementing the system of guiding officials taking the lead to give Party lectures. And then,it had the opening ceremony of the 9th SPI (SAI) Culture and Art Festival, which marked the start of the year-long festival. Our century-old Party is still in its prime, staying true to its original aspiration and going forward resolutely. Upon the important occasion of our Partys 100th birthday, all members in our institute are deeply encouraged and feel the great responsibility. The Party members have deeply realized that Shanghai is where the Party was born, where it determined its original aspiration, an important base of socialist construction, and a frontier of the reform and opening up, and thus the SPI is duty-bound to take the lead in learning, using, and teaching the Party’s history. All people in our institute must learn and teach the Party’s history with faith, affection, and responsibilities, complete various learning and teaching tasks with high standards and high quality, integrate learning, thinking, and using, combine knowledge, belief, and practice, and effectively improve the political consciousness, ideological consciousness, and action consciousness, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of our Party with outstanding achievements.

The SPI (SAI) Culture and Art Festival is held every two years, and this is the 17th year since the beginning. Culture makes our work more wonderful, and art makes it more dynamic. On the theme of "Always Follow the Party and Brave the New Journey", the 9th Culture and Art Festival aims to tell good stories of the CPC, Shanghai, and the SPI through varied activities, active participation of everyone in the institute, and diversified cultural activities so as to carry forward the revolutionary genes and highlight the cultural characteristic of "the Party institutes serving the Party". The festival also intends to encourage the faculty members to sublimate the original aspiration, perform the missions, compete with each other, make more progress, promote the institutes high-quality innovative development in the new era and on the new journey, and keep making outstanding achievements worthy of the birthplace of the Party with an indomitable attitude and a tireless mind.
