Recently, the World Scientific Publishing Company published the China International Import Expo: Shared Future in a New Era by ZOU Lei, associate researcher at Shanghai Development Institute of Shanghai Party Institute(SPI). The book is the outcome achieved by theSPI team of innovation in the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, andthe first book on the CIIE to be published by a foreign mainstream publishing house.On behalf of the Party School, it will be presented at the third CIIE to tell the story of the expo and of the achievements that China andShanghai have made since the opening-up to the outside world.

The problem-oriented book is filled with academicresearch, policies, and storytelling, exploring in a systematic waywith the context, formation, and main contents of the CIIE and analyzing the opportunities brought and the international effect exerted by increasing imports via the expo. It can help all the parties concerned have a better understanding of the vision formed and the actions taken by China to shape a new pattern of full liberalization, build an open global economy, and create a community of shared future for mankindin the new era. The Chinese version of the book, China International Import Expo and New Pattern of Comprehensive Opening-up, was displayedat the press center during the first CIIE in 2018,and enjoyed good feedback from the public.
