On the morning of August 2, YIN Hong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and President of Shanghai Party Institute of CPC, presided over the meeting of the Institute-Affairs Committee and provided guidance on the thematic education of “Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind”. YAN Shuang, Deputy Secretary-General of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and XIANG Yihai, Deputy Director of the Research Office of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, also attended the meeting.
    SHEN Wei, Executive Vice President of Shanghai Party Institute of CPC and Shanghai Administration Institute (SPI/SAI), reported in detail the recent work of the institute and its work plan in the second half of 2019. Specifically, he focused on four aspects, namely, “Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind” thematic education, promoting the teaching reform by “teaching politics with academics”, implementing the “Marxist theoretical innovation programme” and building post-doctoral workstations, and deepening SPI system reform. He also reported the preparations for special training courses for young and middle-aged cadres to study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches during his inspection to Shanghai in the second half of 2019. Other SPI leaders made supplementary talks combined with their own management work.
      After listening , Yin Hong fully affirmed the recent work done by SPI. He pointed out that SPI should resolutely implement the requirements of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, base on realities, develop new ways and methods and solidly carry out the thematic education of “Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind”, so as to make rectification, implement the results and test the effectiveness of the thematic education.
     YIN Hong pointed out that it is necessary to further learn, understand and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, carry out the thematic education of “Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind” with a high degree of political consciousness and full spirit. It is important to learn the theories, implement the requirements and make solid reforms, with a view to making the thematic education a process of deepening the understanding of the Party’s innovative theories, keeping close ties with the people, and promoting SPI development. It is crucial to earnestly summarize the practice of “special training courses for young and middle-aged cadres to study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches during his inspection to Shanghai” in the first half of 2019, do a good job in the course-system design of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and enhance the awareness and deepen the implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
     YIN Hong said that it is necessary to make cadre education and training, keep up with the times, attach importance to using new methods, improve professional thinking and professionalism, so as to encourage cadres to work actively, improve their overall qualities, and help them draw confidence and courage from missions through various channels such as special counseling lectures, team building, etc.

     YIN Hong stressed that it is necessary to strictly manage the budget, adhere to running the institute thriftily, improve the input-output ratio of SPI education, and improve refined and scientific management.
