A delegation of officials from Laos, led by Bounma Chanthavongsa, General Manager of Lao Airlines of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Laos, recently came to Shanghai and stayed at SPI’s Dianshan Lake Campus. Entrusted by the CPC International Department, SPI and Hongqiqu Executive Leadership Academyco-sponsoredthe delegation’s visit and investigation. The delegation consisted of 30 officials from businesses and institutions in the industrial, transportation and economic fields. On the afternoon of September 5, Vice President ZENGJun met with the delegation and attended the closing ceremony.

     To make the visit and investigationmore focused and more satisfactory tothe Lao side, the topics covered different topics, such as "the development and opening up of Pudong New Area", "the reform and development of state-owned enterprises in the new era" and "the Party building in state-owned enterprises". Through a series of special presentations, on-the-spot visits and seminars, the Chinese side introduced to the delegation the new paths ofreform in state-owned enterprises, the new practices inthe Party building in state-owned enterprises, and the new achievements made in reform and opening up.

     Bounma Chanthavongsa spoke highly of the innovative mechanism that Shanghai has adopted in the field of economy and trade. He said that thanks tothe careful arrangement, warm reception and full support of Shanghai Party Institute of CPC, they felt like they were visiting a close relative. The visit provided them with a very precious opportunity to make in-depth exchanges with Chinese experts. At present, under the guidance of General Secretary XI Jinping, the Communist Party of China has made tremendous success on the road of the socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics. There are so many things for Laos to learn from.
