On the afternoon of June 4, Shanghai Party Institute of the CPC and Shanghai Administration Institute (SPI/SAI) held a Mobilization Meeting on “Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind” Thematic Education. SHEN Wei, Executive Vice President of the institute and Leader of the Steering Group of “Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind” Thematic Education, and LI Xinhua, Leader of the 5^th Steering Group on Tour of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee’s thematic education, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. LIU Daoping, Deputy Leader of the 5^th Steering Group on Tour of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee’s thematic education, was present at the meeting. LI Bo, Vice President of the institute and Leader of the Steering Group of “Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind” Thematic Education, hosted the meeting.

SHEN Wei pointed out that following the requirements of the CPC Central Committee and the deployment of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, our institute, as a functional department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, officially launched the thematic education on “Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind” today. It will help all the Party members and cadres in our institute raise their ideological level and cognitive understanding, thoroughly grasp the spirit of General Secretary Xi’s important speeches, and profoundly understand the significance of the thematic education. It is necessary to keep in mind the general requirements of “keeping the original aspiration in mind, shouldering the mission, finding the gap and focusing on implementation” throughout the whole process, and strive to achieve leapfrog development and improvement of our undertakings in the new era. It is imperative to combine the thematic education closely with the study and implementation of the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches during his inspection to Shanghai, and the key tasks of our work in the new era, such as continuing to deepen the reform of the institute system and implementing the “Marxist Innovation Project”. It is essential to awake the original aspiration of our staff and set a benchmark for them through the thematic education, further strengthen the education of the Party theories and spirit, and guide the Party members and cadres to strengthen their faith in Marxism and socialism with Chinese characteristics.

SHEN Wei stressed that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of our institute. In the past 70 years, under the correct leadership of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, SPI staff has been forging ahead with strong determination and diligence generation after generation, thus making important contributions to the development of education of the Party cadres. Nowadays, we need to stay true to our original aspiration through the thematic education and transform the enthusiasm and enterprising spirit inspired by it into a powerful driving force for presenting a good performance in our work in the new era. We need to continue studying, practicing and reflecting, put what we have learned into good use, create a milestone in the education and training of Party cadres, so as to make new achievements in serving the bigger picture of Shanghai’s reform and development.

LI Xinhua emphasized that it is necessary to study thoroughly and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi’s important speeches at the Meeting on “Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind” Thematic Education Work and the deployment requirements of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and strive to fulfill the fundamental tasks of the thematic education, meet the general requirements of “keeping the original aspiration in mind, shouldering the mission, finding the gap and focusing on implementation”, achieve the objectives of gaining fruitful results in theoretical learning, making improvements in political ideology, taking responsibility in work and innovation, solve problems for the people, setting an example for clean and honest governance, adhere to learning and education, investigation and research, and review problems, rectification and implementation throughout the entire process of the thematic education. The 5^th Steering Group on Tour will follow the deployment requirements of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, fully rely on SPI to carry out the work, provide guidance in the form of assistance and service, gain an in-depth understanding of the situation, put forward work suggestions, and promote the implementation of various tasks of the thematic education.

The meeting was attended by leaders of SPI/SAI, including GUO Qingsong, ZENG Jun, XIE Genhua, LI Ning, ZHU Lianggao, MEI Lihong, all members of the 5^th Steering Group on Tour of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee’s “Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind” thematic education, relevant members of Discipline Inspection Team in the Organization Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee sent by the Shanghai Municipal Discipline Inspection Commission, and all Party members of the institute.
