From April 24th to 26th, a seminar on leading cadres implementation of the strategy of Shanghai rural revitalization was co-held by the Organizational Department of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Shanghai Administration of Civil Service, Shanghai Administration Institute as well as Shanghai Municipal Office of Rural Work and Shanghai Municipal Agricultural Commission. Vice Mayor PENG Chenlei attended to make a mobilization and gave the first lecture to the 69 participants, consisting of members of the leading groups concerning agriculture, rural areas and rural residents, leaders of the Party Committees and the local governments in the agriculture-related districts, the directors of the District Offices of Rural Work and the District Commissions of Agriculture as well as leaders of the agriculture-related units.

 Held in the "2+X" model, this high-level seminar was one of the 7 key training programs targeting Shanghais civil servants in 2018. Centering on putting into place the major decisions and arrangements by the Party Central Committee and the State Council on the implementation of the strategy of rural revitalization, the seminar focused on points such as the priority development of agriculture and rural areas, the overall development of rural areas, the establishment and improvement of the institutional mechanism and policy system for the integrated development of urban and rural areas, the upgrading of the rural governance system and the promotion of modern governance in rural areas. Thematic trainings, structured discussions and forums were carried out to help trainees understand the overall deployment and arrangements of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Shanghai Municipal Governments implementation of the strategy of rural revitalization, and effectively improve their ability to push forward such revitalization. For the strategy to take place really in Shanghai, the seminar was to help unify ideas, reach a consensus and solve problems.

The seminar invited leaders such as HAN Jun, Deputy Secretary of the Party group and Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Deputy Director of the Rural Work Leading Group of the Central Committee, and ZHANG Guokun, Director of Shanghai Municipal Office of Rural Work and Shanghai Municipal Agricultural Commission, to give lectures. Officials from the Organizational Department of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Publicity Department of CPC Shanghai Committee, Shanghai Municipal Planning, Land and Resources Administration, Shanghai Municipal Finance Bureau and Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau also tutored the trainees in concrete subjects. In the closing ceremony, 5 trainees from Minhang District, Jinshan District, Fengxian District, Qingpu District and Chongming District respectively gave a speech about breaking the bottleneck in work by making up for the weaknesses.
