A Cadre Delegation of the Liberal Party of Sri Lanka Visited SAI for Investigation and Study

    A cadre delegation of the Liberal Party of Sri Lanka had an investigation and study at SAI from October 26 to November 2. The delegation, headed by Mr. Pushpakumara, Deputy Secretary General of the Liberal Party of Sri Lanka and former parliament member, consisted of 19 cadres of the party. They were mainly scheduled to visit Shanghai and Yunnan. Mr. ZHANG Xuyi, Deputy Director General of Bureau I of the International Department, Central Committee of CPC,  made a special trip to Yunnan to communicate with the delegation.

    On October 27, as commissioned by the International Department, Central Committee of CPC, Mr. SHEN Wei, member of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and the Executive Vice President of SAI, met the delegation with a warm reception, gave them an introduction on the basic information of SAI, and exchanged views with them. The heads of the Foreign Affairs Division and Training Division accompanied to meet the delegation.

    During the visit to SAI, Prof. ZHOU Jingqing introduced the fundamental realities of China and the Party to the delegation. Prof. HE Haibin briefed the Party building in communities and community construction in Shanghai. Associate Professor HAN Bin of the Party School of CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee explained China’s efforts to take targeted measures in poverty alleviation. Prof. ZHOU Yiping, head of International Silk Road Institute of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and former Director of United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation, communicated with the delegation members on the development of Belt and Road Initiative and how to make common prosperity come true. The delegation also paid special visit to the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, visited Lvxiang Town of Jinshan District and Hudong Sub-district of Pudong New Area for investigating the grass-roots Party building work in Shanghai. Then the delegation travelled to Qilin District in Qujing of Yunnan for investigating the work of targeted poverty alleviation.

    Mr. Pushpakumara, head of the delegation, said the Communist Party of China was an extraordinary party. Many of CPC’s practices and experiences in the party building were worth learning. The Chinese government and CPC’s work in targeted poverty alleviation had great guiding significance and sound demonstration effect. The delegation members also appreciated China’s achievements of reform and opening up, and expressed time and again that these achievements could not be done without the leadership of CPC. The delegation members finally expressed their satisfaction to the scheduling and arrangements for the visit and spoke highly of the work of SAI and the Party School of CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee.
