On June 19, Prof. Tria, Head of the Economics School of the University of Rome Tor Vergata (UTV), and his party paid a visit to SPI and both sides discussed about the Sino-Italian Joint Seminar to be held at SPI in September, 2017. Prof. Atella, Head of UTV International Economic Studies Center, and Ms. Daniela in charge of international cooperation and China program came with Prof. Tria. The meeting was presided over by Vice President GUO Qingsong of SPI.
    Vice President Guo expressed warm welcome to Prof. Tria and his party. With the great efforts of Prof. Tria, SPI established a long-term and stable academic cooperation with Italian National Administration School (SNA) and UTV by signing the memorandum of cooperation. The two sides have paid several academic visits mutually and held Sino-Italian Joint Seminar in turn. To honor Prof. Trias outstanding contributions to promoting Sino-Italian cooperation, Shanghai Municipal Government granted Prof. Tria the 2016 Shanghai Magnolia Silver Award on the recommendation of SPI. Vice President Guo also expressed his wish to further expand and deepen mutual cooperation. Speaking of the Joint Seminar to be held in September, Guo said SPI would make earnest preparations and thoughtful arrangements to ensure the success of the seminar. He also gave some constructive advice on mutual cooperation.
    Prof. Tria said during each visit he got a warm reception that made him feel at home. He was very pleased to share his research results with peers of SPI and sent invitations to young teachers of SPI when attending the January seminar in Shanghai. He expected to share Roman experience on health economics, medical insurance and care for the aged, etc. with Shanghai peers at the upcoming Sino-Italian Joint Seminar and hoped to form comparative research results on social policies between Shanghai and Rome.
    Before the meeting, Prof. MA Xiheng, Head of SPI Department of Social Sciences, and Prof. Tria discussed about the preparatory work for the Sino-Italian Joint Seminar.
