On June 30, the Seminar on Approaches to Fire Risk Management in Megalopolis----Academic Salon for Urban Public Safety Management (III) was held at SPI in Meeting Room 202, Haixing Building. The seminar was jointly organized by Shanghai Emergency Management Training Center for Urban Public Safety, SPI Urban Public Safety Management Research Center and Fengxian Division of Shanghai Fire Department. More than 40 experts and scholars from Tongji University, East China Normal University, East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Maritime University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai Institute of Technology, China Executive Leadership Academy in Pudong, Party School in Pudong, Administration Institute in Pudong, as well as Shanghai Emergency Management Office, Shanghai Fire Department, Shanghai Administration of Work Safety, Shanghai Fire Protection Association and Fengxian Division of Shanghai Fire Department had a heated discussion and in-depth exchange on the "Approaches to Fire Risk Management in Megalopolis".

    This seminar mainly focused on two topics: "the root-cause of casualties caused by small fires and risk control" and "the safety risk management difficulties and solutions under the context of complex risks". Representatives present at the seminar analyzed the fire accidents in Shanghai in recent years and exchanged their views on fire risk prevention & control measures, and major fire risks and difficulties Shanghai was faced with, etc.
