A Tanzanian delegation of 20 people led by Member of the Central Committee of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM, Party of the Revolution) and Coordinator of Secretariat of the Central Committee had a study and research class at SPI from May 18 to 21.
SHEN Wei, Executive Vice President of SPI met the delegation and delivered a welcome speech. He said that the class was held at the same time with the Belt and Road Forum, on which China’s President XI Jinping put forward the core spirit of the Silk Road: peaceful cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning, mutual benefit and win-win. In this context, it was of great significance for the Executive Committee of CCM to have a class here in Shanghai. He hoped the delegation would learn about the practice of CPC in politics, economy, society, culture and ecology through Shanghai, and experience the great achievements made in the reform and opening up in China and Shanghai. Pereira Silima, head of the delegation, Member of the Central Committee of CCM and Coordinator of Secretariat of the Central Committee said in his speech, “I would like to extend my gratitude to the Chinese government and people for the cooperation and help offered to Tanzania. CPC has made achievements appealing world-wide attention in economic and social development. My colleagues and I came to China and Shanghai to learn the experience of CPC in economic and social development and Party building. We are convinced that our discussion and communication in Shanghai will be exciting and fruitful. ”
To make the class more targeted and effective, SPI arranged featured lectures on the building of SPI, the education of officials, as well as the theories and practice of CPC in strengthening administrative capacity. Moreover, we arranged an exchange discussion at SPI No. 1 Branch and a visit to the Party building center of Hudong Sub-district in Pudong New Area to help the delegation understand the CPC’s practice in the Party building and administrative capacity building, and experience the development history and urban construction of Shanghai. During the visits, the delegation listened carefully, took notes and actively asked instructors questions combined with the economic and social situation of Tanzania. The two parties had a heated and full exchange. In addition, the delegation experienced Chinese traditional cultural activities, such as Tang poems chanting, Chinese calligraphy and traditional paper cut, which left a deep impression on them.
The delegation spoke highly of this seminar. They said, “I would like to thank Vice President ZENG Jun for his excellent introduction, through which I’ve learned about the significance and methods of official training.” “The beautiful environment and advanced equipment of SPI No. 1 Branch are very important and helpful for official training.” “We’ve learned from the course of CPC’s administrative capacity building that a political party, a country and even an individual is often faced with various challenges, and we can only do better after solving the problems. After we go back, we’ll try what we’ve learned from CPC and do a better job.” “We would like to thank SPI! It is an outstanding official training institute, which not only provides excellent trainings for CPC members, but has given us CCM members the best seminar. We’re really impressed.”
