On May 8th, as commissioned by the Training Center of Chinese Academy of Governance, Shanghai Administration Institute (SAI) had the 2017 Advanced-study Class on Public Administrative Management for Maldivian Officials. The class was comprised of 30 bureau-and-division-level officials from Maldives’ departments such as the Civil Service Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Tourism.
In the morning, Mei Lihong, SAI Provost, met the class and took group photos with them. The heads of SAI Foreign Affairs Division and Training Division were present. Professor Rong Zhi from the Public Administration Teaching and Research Department gave them an English lecture on “Public Administration and Service Practices and Lessons in Shanghai.” In a vigorous atmosphere, the class members interacted and exchanged with the professor on issues such as the current situation of China’s intellectual property protection, operation models and investment channels of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, immigration management of Shanghai Government and policies on visits of foreigners to Shanghai.
As SAI was the last stop of their study tour in China, the trainees said that the well-arranged courses of the institute and the wonderful lectures of the professor rounded off their Chinese tour and that they would return to their country with what they learned in China, share the practices and apply them to their work.
