On October 27th, Peter Senge & Ottoe Scharmer Innovative Leadership Shanghai Workshop held its first team meeting. The team of Peter Senge, young teachers of the workshop and staffers involved attended the meeting. TU Ye, head of the Training Division, presided over the meeting.
TU Ye first briefed them on the preparations for the workshop’s establishment and the selection of young teachers inside the school. Then the four young teachers presented their basic information, education background and work experience, research interests and achievements, etc. to Professor Senge.
After their self-introduction, Professor Senge said that he valued such cooperation opportunities, and that it was the first time he had in-depth cooperation in China and was also a learning process for him. He said that in spite of their different research interests, they had one thing essentially in common—innovative leadership. He also stressed that he valued practical experience as learning about music from books produced quite different feelings from going to concert and another quite different feelings were from making music by oneself. He would do all he could to help the team have more thorough experience and hoped to create more opportunities for the team to learn and experience his and Professor Scharmer’s ongoing works. Professor Senge also made specific requirements on the cooperation mode of the team, the language proficiency of the young teachers, etc.
The team discussed the establishment of system-wide learning process, distinctions between government and corporate leadership, scenario simulation experience of VR technical improvement. Afterwards, the team had exchanges with members from Shanghai Teacher Training Center.
