On Sept. 23rd, Ms. Ismat Ara Sadique led a delegation of five members at the Ministry of Public Administration (MoPA), Bangladesh，and paid a visit to Shanghai Administration Institute (SAI) in the company of Jiang Wei, deputy director of the Training Centre of Chinese Academy of Governance. Prof. Wang Guoping, Executive Vice-President of SAI, hosted the meeting.

    Wang Guoping made a general introduction of SAI to the guests. Focusing on its educational role, mission and function, SAI completes 50,000 person times training every year, and performs actively in scientific research, post-graduate education, governance consultation and featured projects. The Institute has established co-operative relationship with 35 overseas training institutions and well-known universities, which broadens its out-bound channels and lays a sound foundation for its ever-improving level of internationalization.

    Ms. Ismat Ara Sadique said that the visit was aimed at improving communication and cooperation between the two sides. The achievements SAI has made left her deep impressions. Both China and Bangladesh are developing countries, sharing much in common in fields of policy-making, social management and public administration, and therefore can learn from each other and draw on mutual experiences. MoPA is a state sector in charge of national civil servants’ recruiting, promoting, appointing and removal. It is at present dedicated to pushing forward official training programs in Bangladesh, so as to enhance vocational skills and professional qualities of government staffers, and thereof to improve efficiency and efficacy of the ruling power, fostering government’s abilities to address different kinds of social problems. Bangladesh aims to become a middle-income country by the midterm of this century.

    During the meeting, the two sides discussed certain details on the setting and implementation of official training programs. Ms. Ismat Ara Sadique invited Wang Guoping to visit Bangladesh at his convenience, and expressed her wish to deepen mutual cooperation and exchange by conducting joint training programs and signing collaborative agreements.
