Wang Guoping met Singapore Consul General of Shanghai

    On November 2, Mr. Loh Tuck Wai, Consul-General of Consulate General of Singapore in Shanghai, paid an official visit to Shanghai Administration Institute. Mr. Wang Guoping, Executive Vice President of SAI, hosted a talk with him.

    Wang welcomed Consul-General’s coming and briefed SAI’s official training and open education.  He introduced SAI’s simulation rooms of Emergency Management, Media Communication, Psychological Adjustment, Financial Operation and Party Spirit Education in Shanghai’s Reform and Opening-Up. He attached great importance to the simulation room of Party Spirit Education in Shanghai’s Reform and Opening-Up, which was put into operation right recently and aimed at telling more true Shanghai Stories by adopting video projecting and picture displaying. When talking about SAI’s open education, Wang emphasized that internationalization is one of the important characteristics of its education. SAI now maintained relatively stable cooperation partnership with 36 world-renowned universities and training institutes covering all the five continents of the world by carrying out various programs such as official training, academic research and visiting scholars. Based on this global cooperation net, SAI can implement targeted training and exchange programs according to its specific needs. More importantly, the teaching staffers are able to learn multiple cultures and experience as well as specific practice in these institutions to make themselves more inspired and have a farther-and-wider visual field, which is a great guarantee to improve their teaching quality. Wang hoped that the two parties would enlarge cooperation and share more resources with each other.

    Mr. Loh Tuck Wai, Consul-General of Consulate General of Singapore in Shanghai, said it was the first time for him to visit Shanghai Administration Institute after he took office of Consul-General in Shanghai from the same position in Guangzhou. He praised Shanghai for its better city governance and rule consciousness. He also gave a positive remark of Shanghai’s goals in constructing the global city and economic, financial, trade, shipping and technology innovation centers as well as cultural metropolis. He expressed that his wish was to introduce more experts from Singapore to visit SAI for mutual exchanges in terms of senior civil servant training and city governance and develop more cooperative programs with SAI.
