On November 3, a delegation of Korea Institute of Public Administration (KIPA) paid an official visit to Shanghai Administration Institute. Mr. Guo Qingsong, Vice President of SAI, hosted a talk with them.
Guo welcomed the delegation and briefed SAI’s group school-running system as 1+5 and internationalization. He emphasized that SAI has been maintaining relatively stable cooperation partnership with 36 world-renowned universities and training institutes all over the world, such as Harvard University, University of Oxford, and the National Administration Institute in France, Italy, and Brazil. By cooperating and sharing resources with them, SAI is now running many international programs, which greatly facilitate its teaching and research. Guo extended his wish to strengthen cooperation with KIPA in China-Korea comparative study, academic research, international conferences, scholars-exchanging, and leaders-visiting, the programs and exchanges in city governance, emergency management, leadership science and human resources development, scientific research, and publications. And fruits of government consultation study can be shared jointly to promote the mutual development.
KANG, Jeong Seok, head of the Korean delegation and Director of Headquarters for Planning & Coordination of KIPA, expressed his gratitude for SAI’s meeting. He mentioned that he had been to Shanghai in 1996, and Shanghai now has made a tremendous transition of unbelievable magnitude in the past 20 years. This time he came to Shanghai Administration Institute all the way to seek potential cooperation programs and discuss the MOU signing with SAI. He introduced KIPA as the only national-level institute that took the study of public administration in Korea, and hoped to enhance mutual exchange in the above-mentioned programs between each other. The two parties also discussed the cooperation in terms of government capacity index and policy development studies.
