The second and third training classes for Thailand civil servants’ administrative capacity were held in Shanghai Administration Institute, respectively from June 26th to 30th and from July 5th to 8th. Authorized by the Civil Servants Committee of Thailand, the training class was an important program designed by the Civil Servants Training School of the Civil Servants Committee of Thailand, a further cooperation after the first class that was held successfully in the Institute in March. The two classes witnessed the attendance of 146 intermediate-and-senior-ranked government officials, as well as some of work staff.
MEI Lihong, Dean of the Institute, and ZENG Jun, vice president of the Institute, were present at the opening ceremony of the second class on the morning of June 28th and the third class on the morning of July 7th respectively, and gave an overview of the Institute to the trainees. Based on the early-stage demand of the Thailand side, both classes invited Professor WANG Zhiping to deliver speech titled “Economic Development of Shanghai” and Professor RONG Zhi “Practice and Experience of Public Administration and Public Service in Shanghai”, and had on-the-spot teaching of “China (Shanghai) Free Trade Pilot Zone” and “Hong Qiao Integrated Transportation Hub”.
Mr. Panu Sukehavan, deputy secretary-general of the Civil Servants Committee of Thailand and head of the delegate for the second class, stated in his opening remark that the objective was to utilize the experience of other countries to strengthen the leadership construction of Thailand civil servants and improve the public administrative capacity. In addition, the training program, which was launched at the second anniversary of the signing of the mutual-benefit collaboration agreement between Shanghai Administration Institute and the Civil Servants Committee of Thailand, not only exemplified the friendly cooperation between the two sides, but also embodied the wishes for working even closely in the future. In his opening speech on the third class, Mr. Piyawat Sivaraks, deputy secretary-general of the Civil Servants Committee of Thailand and head of the delegate, extended sincere gratitude to the Institute who believed that the high-quality courses, rich information and considerate arrangement would stimulate the trainees’ positive thinking and provide them useful lessons.
The successful training program to improve Thailand civil servants administrative capacity contributes to further exchange and collaboration between the two sides in fostering and cultivating leaders, so as to promote friendly ties between Thailand and China, and enhance the friendship between the people of both countries.
