2016 Bangladesh Public Administration Class Came to Shanghai Administration Institute for Further Study

    From May 24th to 27th, authorized by the Training Center of Chinese Academy of Governance, Shanghai Administration Institute received the 2016 Bangladesh Public Administration Class. Among 18 class members, two were directors general and 16 were directors from several government departments of Bangladesh including the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Public Administration and the Ministry of Social Welfare. LIU Gang, a class adviser of the Training Center of Chinese Academy of Governance and deputy bureau director, visited the Institute with the class.

    Accompanied by directors of the Foreign Affairs Office and the Training Division, MEI Lihong, the provost of the Institute, met the class members warmly on the morning of May 25th, and gave an overview of the Institute. After that, Associate Professor LI Meng from the Department of Economics and Management delivered a speech on the economic development of Shanghai in terms of current conditions, existing issues and measures to be taken. In addition, the class went to China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone and learned about the reform and trial of the Zone, visited the comprehensive service hall of the Zone and the Imported Automobile Exhibition and Trade Center. They also went to Gumei Sub-district in Minhang District to learn about Shanghai’s experience in government administration at the basic level and its service innovation, which was followed by a tour to Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co. Ltd. The class showed great interest in the simulated cabin of an LNG ship and learned about the history and development of the company.

    On behalf of the class, Mr. MD ANISUR RAHMAN, the class monitor and a member of the Dhaka Division of Bangladesh Public Administration Department, extended gratitude to the Institute for the considerate arrangement. He said they were impressed by the hospitality and cooperative spirit of the Institute, and they really felt at home during their stay in Shanghai, a global metropolis enjoying rapid growth, and they were eager to learn more about how China, the most populous economy in the world, achieved its balanced development through diversified policies.

    The four-day event was highly praised by the members of the class who enjoyed this trip. In their eyes, Shanghai Administration Institute was an outstanding training organization that was able to offer excellent and professional courses, modern and convenient facilities as well as pleasant environment, such as the dining hall and the campus.
