Entrusted by Chinese Academy of Governance, Shanghai Administration Institute had the 2016 Public Management Further-study Workshop for Sudan Ministerial Officials on April 7. The workshop participants were officials from Sudan Ministries of Cabinet Affairs, Federal Governance, Health, Public Information and Environment. Among the 19 attendees, 13 were at the vice minister level, and 5 at the bureau level. JIANG Wei, Vice Director of the Training Center of Chinese Academy of Governance, accompanied the workshop on the visit to Shanghai Administration Institute.
In the morning, MEI Lihong, Provost of Shanghai Administration Institute, met the workshop participants and made a brief introduction to SAI. The directors of Foreign Affairs Office and Training Division were present at the meeting. Then Professor CHEN Yongming of the Economics Department lectured on the topic “the Economic Development in Shanghai and Government Administration Innovation”, introducing the economic development and transformation in Shanghai and government administration innovation, and did interactions with the participants on related problems. In the afternoon, the participants had an on-the-spot teaching in China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone to know about the pilot reforms in the Pilot Free Trade Zone and visited its comprehensive service hall and parallel imported cars trading center of Free Trade Zone.
TARIG TAWFIG MOHAMED SULIMAN, the monitor of the Workshop, and the State Minister at the Cabinet Affairs Ministry said that it was a great learning opportunity. Since all the participants were senior-or-mediate officials or renowned scholars, this trip would be of great significance for the development of Sudan. The trip came to true due to the friendly and brotherly relationship between China and Sudan as the two countries had established strategic partner relationship. Efforts should be made to deepen the understanding between the high-leveled officials of our two countries so as to share development achievements among the two peoples. He was happy to witness the friendly exchanges between the two peoples and hoped to bring back some experience from China.
