Entrusted by the Training Center of Chinese Academy of Governance, the Ivorian Ruling Coalition Official Delegation came to Shanghai Administration Institute (SAI) for further studies on April 27. The Delegation was composed of 15 high-ranking officials of the Republic of Ivory Coast, including one at the vice-ministerial level and 14 at the director-general level. LIU Gang, the class teacher at the the vice director-general level of the Training Center of Chinese Academy of Governance accompanied the Delegation on the visit.

        MEI Lihong, Provost of SAI, warmly received the Delegation members on the morning, introducing the basic information of SAI, and the chiefs of Foreign Affairs Office and of the Training Division were present at the meeting. Professor CHEN Yongming of the Economics Department lectured to the trainees on a special topic of “the Development, Status Quo and Issues of the Reform and Opening up in Shanghai”, which covered the five major tasks (cutting industrial capacity, destocking, de-leveraging, lowering corporate costs and improving weak link) and promotion of system innovation in five aspects by extending from the guiding ideas for building Shanghai into five centers. The trainees eagerly asked questions and actively interacted with one another, with their total attention to the lecture throughout, making intensive communication with the teacher on such issues as how Chinese enterprises tried to realize technology assignment and transfer, the proportions of governmental fiscal budget and tax in Shanghai, measures for urban environmental protection and corporate tax preferences. After the lecture, a representative of the trainees remarked, “The lecture given by Mr. CHEN is so wonderful that I wish to have the lecture the whole day”.        

        Mr. DOUMBIA Brahima, head of the Ivorian Ruling Coalition Official Delegation and Acting Vice Secretary-General responsible for electoral affairs addressed on behalf of the delegation that they were grateful for the thoughtful arrangements by SAI and the wonderful lecture, they saw the firm strides in development by China and the achievements in China's economic development and reform and opening up through this visit and learning, SAI had played an important role in the economic development in Shanghai and they had a lot of interest in the work of SAI.

        Since Shanghai was the last stop in the learning and visit of the delegation in China, the Training Center of Chinese Academy of Governance also held a brief closing ceremony in SAI, presenting certificates to the trainees.
