On the afternoon of October 13th, the Shanghai Office of German Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and the Scientific Research Department and the Teaching and Researching Department of Economics of our university jointly held an academic seminar where Prof. Heinelt at Darmstadt University of Technology gave an academic report entitled “Prospects of European Debt Crisis and European Integration: What It Influences and enlightens China”.
In his academic report, Prof. Heinelt expounded the cognitive divergences of South Europe and North Europe in terms of governmental debt, the status quo of Greek debt crisis, its influence on European integration and its revelation to the “democratic deficit” problem in EU. Then LIU Zhiguang, SHI Tao and other participants discussed with Prof. Heinelt on problems including the new thinking patterns of the government’s political administration, the inner impetus of economic growth, the relation between high welfare and governmental debt, and the problems of Chinese local government debt.
The whole seminar produced satisfactory results in enthusiastic atmosphere through in-depth discussions. Some post-graduates of our institute also actively participated in the seminar.
