Commissioned by Chinese Academy of Governance, Shanghai Administration Institute had the training class of local senior officials of the Republic of Mozambique on October 13^th. In the class there were 28 students in total, one of which was at minister level, 4 at vice-minister level, and 23 at director-general or director level. The class consisted of standing secretaries-general of different provinces in Mozambique, and delegates from public service departments, various administrative regions, and city hall chair representatives. CHENG Cize, Deputy Director of Training Center of Chinese Academy of Governance, accompanied the class.

    On that morning, WANG Guoping, Executive Vice President warmly received the students of the training class, and introduced the development situation of the institute from three aspects, school running system, school-running conditions and school characteristics. The chiefs of SAI’s Foreign Affairs Office and Training Center were present in the meeting. 

    The training class aimed to help understand the general development situation of Chinese public administration. Therefore, the institute arranged Professor RONG Zhi from Public Administration Teaching-research Department to give a lecture on the theme “Measures and Experiences of Public Administration and Public Services in Shanghai”. It also organized the students to visit Linfen Sub-district of Zhabei District----a “National Civilized Community Demonstration Pilot Area”, where the students were able to observe the practices and learn the experience of sub-district program operation for public services.

    The students said, “The one-day class is a combination of rationality and sensibility as well as a combination of activities and class, which has greatly intensified our understanding of Shanghai. It is an unforgettable day.” Still in high spirit after the teaching activity, and the students happily sang revolutionary songs of Mozambique-- “We come afar” and “Thank you” in the car, so as to express their gratitude to the training. Ms. Stella da Graça Pinto Zeca, monitor of the training class and the Governor of Gaza Province of Mozambique said, “It has been 40 years since the Republic of Mozambique and China established diplomatic relationship. In the past 40 years, the relationship between the two countries has undergone rapid development, and remarkable progress has been achieved in terms of the cooperation in various fields. Mozambique pays great attention to the reform of public administration. As China has profound experiences in the field, the training here is crucial to us. As it is known to all that Shanghai is a city with strong attractions. We are honored to have the chance to communicate and study in Shanghai Administration Institute.
