On October 13, the training delegation of SAI held a members’ meeting before starting to University of Georgia, USA. Vice president Guo Qingsong attended the meeting and gave important remarks. Guo pointed out that the training delegation to USA was scheduled from October 18 to November 6 with the theme of “Building the Technology Innovation Center: Management and Capacity Improvement”. The members were all from the administration institute system in Shanghai, namely, Shanghai Administration Institute and its branches as well as the administration institutes at the district level. There were totally 20 members. During their three-week stay in USA, they would learn about America’s technology innovations by means of lecture-giving, topic seminar and on-site teaching. The main contents of the training program include “The New Trends of Global Technology Revolutions and Industrial Revolutions”, “The Factors for the United States Becoming an Innovation Country”, “The Role of Government in Technology Innovation”, “How a Metropolis Becomes a Place of Origin for Technology Innovation”, “Best Practices and Achievements of the State of Georgia”, “Different Innovation Models in USA”, etc. Guo hoped that what the delegates would learn in USA should be beneficial to their teaching and research after returning and thus would be good for the construction of Shanghai’s “Technology Innovation Center with Worldwide Impact”. Guo requested that every member follow the laws and regulations related to overseas training, especially the political and organizational disciplines. Besides, all the members should work hard and strengthen good communications with American teachers to make this training program useful and successful.
