Commissioned by the Training Center of Chinese Academy of Governance (CAG), the Public Administration Seminar for the Standing Secretaries of Maldives came to Shanghai Administration Institute (SAI) for further studies on April 24. This is the second group of senior civil servants who paid a visit to China and paid a special visit to SAI, following the first batch of 27 senior officials from various governmental departments of Maldives who came to SAI for further studies last December.
CHENG Cize, Deputy Director of the Training Center of the CAG, also visited SAI together with the group. MEI Lihong, Dean of SAI, met the members of the group, making a brief introduction of SAI, and the chiefs of the Division of Foreign Affairs and the Division of External Training attending the meeting. During the visit, the group received a special-topic lecture themed “the Practices and Experience in Public Administration and Public Services in Shanghai” given by Professor RONG Zhi from the Department of Public Administration.
Mr. Ahmed Hassan Didier, Head of the group and Vice Chairman of the Public Affairs Committee of Maldives, made a speech on behalf of all the members of the group, extending sincere gratitude to SAI for the considerate service. He explained that it was the first time for the majority of the group to pay a visit to China except some who had once participated in the training programs sponsored by other Chinese governmental organs. Their visit was to learn the experience in Chinas economic development and the public administration. According to Mr. Ahmed Hassan Didier, the visit to Shanghai and the short-term training in SAI was a wonderful and memorable part of their visit in China.
