On April 22, Guo Qingsong, Vice President of Shanghai Administration Institute, met Steven, Director of Executive Education Programs of Maxwell School of Syracuse University, and his fellow member.
Guo reviewed the past cooperations between Shanghai Administration Institute and Syracuse University and introduced the main changes of SAI. He pointed out that one of the distinctive features of SAI is the new framework of “1+5” group school-running system. The 5 branch schools are respectively responsible for the training in cultural publicity, politics and laws, urban construction and transport, science and technology, education and healthcare, management of state-owned assets and state-owned enterprises, and economic management. Totaling to over 500 staff members and employees, SAI can train more than 50000 person times each year. Besides, SAI also features its open-mindedness in running the institute and an international school-running concept is adhered to. SAI has established a relatively stable cooperative relationship with 28 well-known universities and training institutions in the world, covering all the five continents. Last year, SAI received more than 600 foreign guests and trainees and sent about 10 visiting scholars abroad, including Harvard and Oxford.
Steven expressed his gratitude to SAI for receiving them. He said he was proud of the mutual cooperation and exchange between the two schools. He was amazed by Shanghai’s changes in the past few years and would like to have discussions about the solutions to new problems emerging in the course of economic development. The teachers in Syracuse University thought it was a valuable thing to deliver training programs for Chinese training groups and were pleased to share and exchange experiences with them. He also hoped to strengthen the cooperation to better the training programs.
