With the commission from the Training Center of Chinese Academy of Governance (CAG), the Cuban training class for further study of enterprise transformation and evolution received a training program in Shanghai Administration Institute (SAI) from 25th to 26th of March. The program involved 25 Cuban trainees including 2 at the vice-minister level and 23 senior-or-medium-rank civil servants at departmental or divisional level as well as corporate executives. The trainees of civil servants were from the following ministries: Economy and Planning, Labor and Social Security, Industry, Energy and Minerals, Finance and Price, the Interior, Agriculture, Higher Education, Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, and Revolutionary Armed Force while those of corporate executives from the fields including finance, electronic industry, food processing, tobacco, biology and medicine. CHENG Cize, Deputy Directive of the Training Center of CAG, visited SAI along with the training class. 

On the morning of March 25, MEI Lihong, the Dean of SAI, met the members of the training class and introduced the brief information of SAI in three aspects including the school management system, operation conditions and education characteristics, with the directors of the Foreign Affairs Office and the Training Division being present. Professor WANG Zhiping, Director of the Teaching and Research Department of Economics, gave the class a specialized lecture on the progress, experience and inspirations of the reform and opening up in Shanghai. Duration the training , SAI arranged for the trainees a trip to Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone for an onsite teaching to help them learn about the main achievements and experience obtained at this phase of construction of FTZ. In addition, trainees were also organized to visit SPD Bank and attend special lectures to know about the reform-developing course and competitive environment of banks in China; they were also arranged to visit Shanghai Volkswagen and participate in exchange seminars to understand the role of joint ventures in the reform course of China as well as the operation pattern and management mechanism of enterprises. 

The Cuban trainees felt deeply impressed with the training and found it substantially rewarding. René Hernández Castellanos, monitor of the training class and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Planning of Cuba, said, on behalf of the whole class, the objective of this training program was to get insight of the developing experience of China since its reform and opening up, especially to learn experience from China, especially on the path of economic reform, which was of great importance to Cuba. The training program provided a very good opportunity for learning and therefore was counted significant. All the trainees expressed their gratitude for the warm and considerate arrangement as well as for the varied courses provided by SAI. He said that this training program had enhanced the mutual understanding between China and Cuba and brought the two nations closer.
