On April 27, Guo Qingsong, Vice President of Shanghai Administration Institute, met Martin, Deputy Consul of Brazil Consulate General in Shanghai.

Guo briefed Shanghai Administration Institute by generalizing its two features: “1+5” group school-running system and education internationalization. The main campus is in charge of the education for Party leaders and government officials in Shanghai, and the 5 branches are respectively responsible for the training in cultural publicity, politics and laws, urban construction & transport, science & technology, education, healthcare, state-owned assets and state-owned enterprises, and economy. With a total number of over 500 staff members and employees, SAI can train more than 50000 person times each year. SAI has established a relatively stable cooperative relationship with 28 well-known universities and training institutions in the world, among which there are Harvard and Oxford, covering all the five continents. Last year, SAI received more than 600 foreign guests and trainees and sent about 10 visiting scholars abroad for further study. Guo then reviewed the visiting delegation of Shanghai Administration Institute to Brazil’s ENAP and FGV in 2014, and highly appreciated the reception of them. They held meetings with SAI and expressed the cooperation intention in the fields of public servants training, exchange of visiting scholars, joint research and decision-making advice to establish lasting and stable relations. Shanghai Administration Institute hopes that the Brazil Consulate General will provide any assistance possible to promote the bilateral communications.

Martin expressed his gratitude for being received. He was proud of the mutual cooperation and exchange between SAI and the institutes in Brazil. He said that Brazil and China have been keeping good relationships in many respects in recent years. The Consulate General attached great importance to such cooperation and was willing to offer all-around help to SAI. Besides, he would also like to recommend Brazil’s delegations to visit SAI to strengthen the mutual understanding and exchange.
