On March 19, GUO Qingsong, Vice President of Shanghai Administration Institute (SAI) met the delegation from Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA). Mr. GUO welcomed the arrival of the delegation on behalf of SAI. He briefed the SAI’s model of the group school-running as 1+5. “1” means the main campus of SAI, and “5” refers to the five branch institutes of SAI. Under the framework of 1+5, Shanghai Administration Institute undertakes nearly all the training tasks for Party leaders and government officials as well as some professionals and overseas in Shanghai. Centered on teaching, research and think tank, SAI is exerting its comprehensive strength to rank in the top administration institutes in Asia as the goal. Shanghai Administration Institute has been maintaining good partnership with 28 institutes or universities all over the world. In order to enhance its internationalization, SAI is open to the world and willing to work together with its counterparts in academic and cultural areas. The head of the Indian delegation, Ms. Sheela Reddy, expressed her gratitude to SAI. She said that this delegation consisted of high-ranking officials in India’s different public sectors. The visit to China was part of its training program, and the main purpose of this trip was to learn some useful experience in the field of public servants training and management. The delegation members were impressed by China’s development after they had personal experience in Beijing and Shanghai. Ms. Sheela Reddy hopes that IIPA and SAI can enlarge cooperation and further promote exchanges to achieve the win-win effect.
