On the afternoon of December 8th, 2014, Mr. Martin Dukker, Manager of International Relationship Division in Rotterdam Mayor’s Office, came to visit Shanghai Party Institute (SPI) No. 5 Branch with other two members. Mr. ZHENG Dongyan, Vice President of SPI No. 5 Branch met the guests from Netherlands and exchanged in-depth views on the cooperation in such aspects as overseas practice training programs. Mr. Tony W. HUANG, Managing Director and Chief Representative of Rotterdam Commercial Representative Office (RCRO) and Ms. Jenny TU, Commercial Manager of RCRO also participated in the meeting with Ms. SHEN Ying, Deputy Director of International Exchange and Training Office in SPI No. 5 Branch as well as other staff.
According to Mr. Dukker, the Netherlands laid great stress on and the Mayor of Rotterdam attached special importance to the overseas training programs in the hope that the programs may be enhanced and promoted incessantly. Mr. Tony W. Huang, as the newly-appointed Managing Director of RCRO, bore the responsibility to enhance the communications and exchanges and would spare no efforts to promote the cooperation of both parties in depth while Netherlands would like to offer all aides and assistances. During the meeting, Mr. Dukker also provided constructive feedback on more young participants in the program and special topic-based training contents.
Mr. ZHENG Dongyan sang high praise on the support from Netherlands on the overseas training programs launched by SPI No. 5 Branch. He pointed out that a sound friendship had been forged after many years of cooperation between both parties. Now with the solid mutual trust foundation, the cooperation would witness constant improvement.
At the current stage, SPI No. 5 Branch has built partnership with six countries and eight cities, of which Rotterdam of Netherlands stood out thanks to the longest cooperation plus smooth communication and growing training scale each year. The overseas practice training programs launched by SPI No. 5 Branch not only obtained full recognition from relevant departments of Shanghai Municipal Government, but also received welcome from enterprises and participants. Participants generally view that the bilateral exchange and field practice have empowered them with broadened view and sharpened international horizon. As Shanghai is developing its economy and society, the participants of the practice training programs will be also able to learn from the world while bringing the development opportunities of Shanghai to the world. It is believed that the cooperation on such basis will see a win-win outcome. The visit of our guests from the Netherlands has deepened the mutual trust and understanding of both parties and further expanded the train of thought on cooperation. It is also believed that the overseas practice training programs will greet much better development with the attention and support of local governments and related parties so as to explore a broader space for exchanges among enterprises and even countries.
