On the afternoon of March 26th,the Spring Academic Salon was held by German FES Fund and SAI. The Division of Scientific Research Management and Economics Department are responsible for the specific affairs. This academic salonon's theme is “Inequality and Growth in OECD and Emerging Economies”. Nearly thirty scholars attended the salon. They were from Economics Department, Shanghai Development Research Institute, branches of SAI, and district Party schools.
Lu Yiqing and others from Division of Scientific Research Management gave a warm reception to the German guests. Ms. Catrina, the manager of Shanghai branch of FES Fund, said they thanked SAI's support to the research salon, and hoped to continue to strengthen cooperation with SAI in the academic research. Professor Wang Zhiping hosted the salon. Dr Dauderstädt and Professor Herr made their academic speeches. Their topics were "Inequality and Growth in Emerging Economies" and "Increasing Inequality in Western Countries---Development Settings, Empirical Analysis and Consequences for China". Some scholars of SAI, such as Wang Zhiping, Ju Lixin, Shi Tao, discussed with the two German experts deeply and warmly. The atmosphere was very lively, and the effect was very satisfactory.
It was known that the Division of Scientific Research Management and Economics Department actively cooperated with each other for the preparation of the salon. As early as two months ago, they communicated with German scholars repeatedly. They ensured the smooth progress of the salon, through their careful, thoughtful work. The salon's academic quality was greatly improved, embodied the leadership's requirements to ever-improve the academic quality of the academic meetings.
