On October 29, the 8th Group of Young Cadres for Overseas Practical Training in the Netherlands set out on their journey, consisting of four trainees at SPI No. 5 Branch Institute. The group started their tour for overseas practical training program at Rotterdam, the gateway to Europe. The group expected a colorful stay and study their overseas training program.
Rotterdam Business School did the reception and arrangement of specific tasks for the group’s overseas practical training in Netherlands. During the first week, the School considerately planned a number of special courses lectured by some of well-known professors at the School for the training, which included the Technology Impact of Logistics Transportation, Structure, Skill, Behavior, Culture and Leadership, Strategic Marketing Management, Open Economy from an European Perspective, Business Culture in Europe and Netherlands, Western and European Business Law, Tools and Methods of Strategic Management as well as Management and Control of Enterprise Risks. These courses allowed the participants an insight not only into business administration, but also into the local conditions of the Netherlands.
Then the four members of the group were assigned to three companies for job training according to the members’ various company backgrounds and their professional skills. Sparking enthusiasm, all of them were engaged in the intense work shortly after entering in the assigned companies. During the PMT (Port Management Program) for global ports management and communication, an activity organized by Rotterdam Municipal Port Management, the participants were given the opportunity to share the sophisticated management expertise of the Port of Shanghai and the success of Expo Shanghai 2010, and offer advice and suggestions to Rotterdam’s application for the World Expo. Meanwhile, under the instruction of Rotterdam Economic and Trade Development Bureau, the participants strived hard to grasp the M&A management procedures in Europe and CLEANTECH.
From November 18 to 19, the members of the group for the Netherlands also partook in activities of Global Entrepreneurship Week sponsored by Rotterdam Business School,and brought up with the cases of two companies, namely Shanghai Xian Dai Architectural Design (Group) Co., Ltd. and Shanghai 3F New Material Co., Ltd. under Huayi Group so that the School would be able to analyze and offer suggestions on the Go-Out Policy of Chinese enterprises. On November 24, Mr. Ahmed Aboutaleb, Mayor of Rotterdam, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, met the group. On November 25, the participants, also went all the way to Hague and paid a visit to Mr. LI Fei at the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of the Netherlands so that everybody might feel the care and warmth of the homeland in such a remote country.
As time waits for no one, members of the group extremely cherished the opportunity of training abroad. In order to reap as much as possible from the practical training program, they were racing against the time and studying hard with more stamina and efforts so that they could make contributions to the development and grandness of their own enterprises after they return to the homeland after the training.
