Mrs. Edna Jackson, Mayor of Savannah, Georgia, USA, visited SAI on October 22nd and participated in an international symposium hosted by SAI on Culture Development and Reform. Prof. Guo Qingsong, VP of SAI, hosted a meeting in honor of her. Mrs. Edna Jackson was invited to attend the symposium, accompanies by Prof. Mara Register, Public Service Assistant from Governmental Training, Education, and Development, Carl Vinson Institute of Government, University of Georgia. At the symposium, they would give a joint presentation on Cultural Diversity and Development in Savannah, which was a case study on promoting culture and history to enhance economic vitality. Prof. Guo was grateful for their coming afar and being well-prepared for this symposium. He believed that their good job ensured the success of this symposium. There were 16 foreign experts and professors from 7 foreign countries to participate in this symposium. These foreign participants would exchange their views and practice with the Chinese participants at the symposium on Culture Development and Reform. Prof. Guo generalized that the international symposium was a platform on which the faculty at SAI could learn the latest theory and practice, in this way to improve their teaching and research. Mrs. Edna Jackson felt at home even though it was her first time to SAI. Impressed by the beautiful campus and modern teaching facility, she invited a visiting delegation from SAI to visit Savannah next year. She would like to introduce SAI a few public and private universities and help them cooperate with SAI in the future.
